TOKYO TO KYOTO PHOTO gallery

Our tour from the central district of this amazing nation’s capital city all the way over to the former capital of Kyoto was quite wonderful - or subarashii! - as they say in Japan. We will be posting an article on the tour which just finished 2 weeks ago but for now, please enjoy these images from our trip.

We will run this tour again later this year, from September 20th to October 1st, see this page for details on that. We have 5 signed up and have space for 5 more.

This tour really was like traveling back in time from ultra-modern Tokyo through to the ancient village in Nagano and over to Shirakawa-go with its ‘praying hands’ houses, and then down to Kyoto. Tough tour, no doubt, but rewarding in so many ways…

Also, something quite special happened on this tour…Lee, our co-founder, lived in a small village in Shikoku 25 years ago, and met a surfer / undersea welder there who lived on a small island off the coast. They established a strong connection even though they only met a handful of times, and stayed in touch over the years, messaging maybe once or twice a year to say hello.

Well, when our partner in Japan mentioned that the driver was called Kazu and lived in Shikoku - yeah, the exact same Kazu…

Stay tuned for the full report coming soon!
